If you all run XP you can just use Remote Desktop, but the user at the machine you are connecting to will not be able to work on it while you are connected.

A free option is a VNC Client/Server solution, search on-line for VNC and tons come up, pick one that you like. The Server is installed on the remote machine and you use a viewer to connect to it, it allows your to have complete control or you to share that control between you and the user.

A similar commercial option is Remote Control from Computer Associates, this is what we use at work since it's centrally managed.

Please understand that doing this in many companies will get you FIRED unless you are the network administrator.
