My PC's antivirus gives virus alerts when I run other progs. they ask to run virus scan also.But when I run virus scan they do not show any virus infections does anyone know why?

Check your anti-virus settings
They might be set to block everything from running without scanning the program first.

Depending on what Anti-Virus application you are running, it may be set on a very sensitive setting, like a Operating System Firewall. Aside from that you would probably be safe in un-installing and re-installing it.

Replace your PC with a Mac. End of virus problems.
