Can I use my Powerbook G4 to record from a wireless camera I want to set up in my bedroom?

I'm having a lot of things missing and want to see whats going on. The Powerbook has a DVD. Will the harddrive act as recordable media or should I buy some DVD? Do I need software? Is it S-video?
No instructions came with the camera.

Secondly, the DVD drive will be good for creating archives of video, but the hard drive is where the video would be stored.
