Probably not. It's easy to be rational and objective about someone else's problems because you're detatched emotionally from the situation. So, to be completely honest, no, I don't always follow my own advice in real life.

We absorb a hell of a lot of information through media image now, and since now this technology is being exposed to us at a younger age we are learning to deconstruct it and ignore it more efficiently. We tend to pay low attention to images that would seem fantastic 100, 50, even ten years ago and we are being bombarded with this information so it's impossible not to be affected and take advice sometimes, even if we don't realise we're doing it (subconsciously).
