Because it gives them a chance to be a parent again and see young children. They love to spoil grandchildren because they get to see cute kids yet not have to take care of them all the time.

This question is bit tricky but i will answer for this.
This is the quiet fact.
You do can see in all homes that mother will love their first child and father will love the younger child.
This is because mothers are the people who are creating a life.
At first time of the delivery she has to face so many problems which are new to her and the unalterable pain. And then when she finally see the output she will be satisfied. The first child also will have most heredity of her mother. For example you are writing a tough exam. You had written the first exam well means you will be so happy. This is like that.
Fathers like the younger child because after that child they do not get child so they will b affectionate with their young child.

I had read on line in readers digest that grandparents and childrens go well b'coz they have common enemy. Childrens love to be pampered and the oldies love children because they give them happiness in their last days.
