I came across someone many years ago, briefly, while out at a store or mall. He was friendly and it was just small chit chat over nothing really. We both did not know each other, and therefore there was no reason to continue to carry on a conversation at that point.
I was surprised and impressed, and thought what a great idea, when he handed me his own personal business card. I can't remember even what it said on it, but it wasn't a work business card, it was just his name and phone number.
I am sure he met lots of people that way.
