It is tempting to think that one's own TYPE of family is the ideal or only kind there is. The history of society teaches us, however, that there have ALWAYS been multiple forms of the family co-existing in society at any given point in time. The family system that is ordinarily viewed as moral, normal or accepted quite usually is the one to which the ruling class belongs. "Family diversity" can thus be taken in reference to the different forms of residential, emotional and culinary arrangements that individuals make for their convenience at household levels. This diversity expresses itself in monogamous, polygynous, polyandrous, consanguineous (or extended) and matrifocal family systems and more. In each case, there is an ecological or historical argument behind its emergence at specified points in time. Where necessary, the quest for that set factors becomes an interesting part of the sociology of the family. But, even without that quest or its answers, we would do well to suspend prejudice against people whose family system does not correspond with ours. Theirs is a response to a difference in circumstances.

Would love to help but there is not enough info. You might want to search on the latest government census for your region. Or search: family demographics + uk

Why don't you ask Murdoch. He is very bright and forthcoming. He has attended top notch educational institutions.
He even knows the acronyms for shows like America's Next Top Model and other shows on the "WB". I heard he broke down the Gilmore Girls entire 2nd season for a symposium at Drexel Univ.

Oh wait - that's right - he won't help. he's a woos.
