Yes I think so because when I get anything that someone made for me as a gift I know that they spent a lot of time on it and this really makes me feel special. I also like gifts that you buy from the store. I have a lot of stuff that people have made for me over the yrs. and when I look at it I get a good feeling. I hope this will help you. One quick note: if you want the person to only use them at christmas then make the x-mas idea, but if it were me i would make them where they could use them all year.

Yes you can never have too many potholders. Mine get dirty and I so hate throwing them in the washer, I do not want old food mixed in with my clothes ewww. So I think it is a great idea.

No one likes home-made junk. Sorry but everyone will tell how CUTE and GREAT it is, and as soon as you leave, they end up in the trash. Or worse, they are put in a drawer for two years, then the people move, and while cleaning out they find it, they pull it out, look at it and say, " hey remeber when what's her name gave us these piece of S potholders?" Besides people will think you're cheap too. Merry christmas though

that's a wonderful idea and not many are doing this i would think i would love to receive something like that i decorate my whole kitchen for Christmas and that would be so cool to have something with a personal loving touch, you should definitely do that. Merry Christmas!

They are marvelous for gifts - any occasion , , ,
I regularly use a few that friends have made and gifted me with, over the years. . . they wash well, and last for a very long time.
