i own a repair shop, and i have built a lot of 350,s before you can put as much as you want to in the engine the more you put,the more performance your going to get out of it,,but for around 1500 bucks you can make a good 350 really fast as for the transmission,,everyone has there different opinions on them the 400 is better as far as performance goes ,but you,ll see more 350 turbos built anything else these days there more common and easier to build also, the roller cam your talking about is a good add on for the small block it give quicker rpm gain that regular rockers do also,,,you need to buy a good book on building up Chevy small blocks,,you,ll e surprised what all can be done to them and how well the can be made to run also, advance auto parts sells a good small block book, and it has all the little things you can also do to one to make it fast,,good luck with it,i hope this help,s.

get a crate engine you can get them from Jegs. GM and a million other places...unless u go to the drag strip every weekend the 350 weighs less and can b built just as strong..... Read some Hot Rod and Car Craft magazines..Super Chevy is also good.. subscriptions are only about 9 dollars per year...also if you are buying a crate a 383 cost the same as 350....
