Career in BROADCASTING..? want a secure job. HELP!!!!!!?

I am 25 year old and a graduate I am doing odd jobs from last 3 years and now I want to make career in BROADCASTING. CAN any one tell me wher to start and what is the scope in future . I want to stay in the same industry till my life ends....please help me.. I Live in Punjab Jalandhar India>>

You didn't mention whether you want to work on the technical, personality (on air ) or sales. If your degree was in broadcasting, you may want to start by calling local radio and TV stations to see if they have something available. You may even start with anything that is available to get a foot in the door. In the U.S. we have publications which cater to the industry and they advertise positions. I would think you would have something similar in India. I suggest asking some of your local media about them. Some may advertise on line. One other resource could be your old university. They can often have contacts and can assist you in opening a door. If there is a smaller radio or TV station, you could ask them about a job. One other thing is to see if you can do some volunteer work at some of the media. We have a Public Broadcasting System in the U.S. If you have something similar, they are always looking for volunteer help. Sometimes a volunteer position can translate into a job. Remember, you may not find the exact position you want starting out, but it would be a foot in the door.
