I agree imagine 50 years ago when having 2 t.v channels was the best thing. we have alot more advantages now and people still tend to complain they want MORE. Even if you're in a low income family and can't buy things you want like that x-box u still have wayyy more than families had back then and they were not complaining. Merry x-mas

It is nice to be content with what you have, but it can be stagnating. There is a theory that humans have always been psychologically programmed to "look for greener pastures" as a way to better mankind. That was probably really helpful when Ugg needed to find a nicer cave. Now days, though, ad companies and merchants use this urge to get us to overspend and buy alot of crap we don't need. McMansions, gas guzzling SUV's, $100 jeans, and $4 lattes. Everything is about balance. I welcome better things in life, but it is not my primary goal to attain them. I have learned to appreciate what I do have, which is fortunate for me, since I am very poor by most American financial standards.

Humans are goal oriented beings and always want to work to get something. Getting something new his half the fun of the thing you get. I love simplicity so when I make my house and my life Im not going to have much stuff, I dont now but I donthave th emoney to buy the essential itmems I want to be happy with.
