developed contries benefit by increased consumer choice. increased global trade leads to increased wealth in the contries that dominate global trade. but it can also be argued that globalization increases inequality between developed and the developing world. increased choice and increased wealth in the developed world leads to lifestyle changes for example growing obesity patterns can in part be explained by increased wealth and choice. employment styles are more influanced by global trade, for example if japanese cars are assembled in the uk work practices can be heavily influanced by japanese management style.
interdependency between countries means that governments are less free to make their own policies.
people in the developing world see less of the benefits of global trade and more of the problems.

In the long term, developing countries may benefit the most by raising their standard of living. The down side will be to the industrialized countries. It will skew their national sovernty by such interdependence on other countries. It will also eventually lower the standard of living for the industrialized nations because the higher paying jobs that the middle class has relied upon in manufacturing will have moved abroad in search of lower labor costs. Without the higher paying jobs, the middle class will no longer have access to the jobs necessary to purchase the products that they want. The increased globalization has already resulted in a lowering of the quality of products we have available in many of the mass merchandisers, such as Walmart and Target. Globalization will be good for short term profits, but costly in a lower standard of living for the industrialized nations.

The benefits will be mixed politically. National boundries will be broken down in the name of profits. There will be a diminished appreciation for the home country and a national identity. There will be a push for a one world government to rule a one world economy. There has been a push from the UN for a number of years to replace the U.S. Constitution with a World Constitution. The World Constitution basically eliminates personal rights that American now enjoy, including the right to bear arms, free speech and other freedoms we now enjoy. Most Americans aren't even aware of their rights being taken away. As part of the globalization, the UN and others want to more evenly distribute the industrialized nations wealth to those underdeveloped nations so that everyone is basically on an equal par with other nations. This will never work in the long term. This entire movement will benefit the few at the expense of the many.
