When i have been brought in for Supervision from my Manager she checks if i am happy or is there anything i would like to change, to make my working life better, do i want to take courses to be promoted later. Any problems. Supervision should be a two way thing, a chance for your manager to talk to you on a one to one level, she can also tell you that your work isn't up to cratch, whats the problem? Get the jist. Good Luck. Nothing to worry about though.

hello. basically as a manager it is your role to give your staff "supervisions" every 3-6 months or less if they need it, its just an informal chat about how they are progressing, what their goals are for the next three months and if they have any problems at work. (its like s buddie system to get problems ideas & thoughts off their chest) then you write these things down during the supervision and ask the person to sign it so they can clarify that you havent influenced their thoughts in any way and you file it until the next supervision when you can refer back to the last one and see if things have improved/ideas have been heard/goal have been met. its just to make sure your staff are happy and being listened to. good luck xx

Well I'm a manager, and supervision is me taking responsibility for the actions of the folks in my team, and kicking their backsides when they get something wrong.

It also means that you have a duty of care, giving them opportunity to raise issues and concerns, negotiate solutions and action resolution.

i think its supervision. its a way of delegating responsability for little or no cost.
