My father said that it is written in the bible that a man/woman should leave the house of their parents when they get married. He said that it is written that when a man/woman gets married, their family should always come first before their parents. Can someone tell me where it is written in the bible? You see, I'm in a long distance relationship and after my studies I'll be going to my boyfriends place which is really far away from my parents place. I really feel bad thinking that I would be leaving them and wouldn't be able to see them for a very long time. I've been with them since I was a child and have never left them for so long. The longest I think that I left without seeing them was 2 months and when I get married I will move to another country where I won't be able to visit them if I want to. That's why I'm trying to find the scripture. I think it will help me. thanks

That is why a man leaves his father and mother and clings to his wife, and the two of them become one body.
You have to understand - You have to leave your parents to be with your spouse, you can always love your parents but its time to start your own life!
Also, you should look into purchasing a student bible because the teachings are broken down and it will have an index to appoint you to read all about marriage.

But are you sure about this guy? Sometimes being so far away from your parents you have no emotional support if this guy is a creep. Another scripture is Ephesians 5:22
Really know this guy before you take off and how do you get back if it doesn't work.
