I've already got a bluetooth dongle which i use to connect my phone to the pc.

If i buy a bluetooth wireless keyboard and mouse can they use the same dongle to connect to the pc or will i need another one.

The problem is i've already used all my usb ports and i'm running several usb hubs to get more usb ports (18 ports in total now) and i don't want things to slow down by adding another USB device if i don't need to.

Also is a bluetooth wireless better for a wireless keyboard i.e range and line of sight.

portable minidisc docking station
4 port hub x 5

yes but make sure ur keyboard and mouse r compatable with the dongle to make sure if it doesnt connect.
sum devices work on the older class of bluetooth and dosent on the newer version. speed difference.
u might hav interference if u try to use 2 dongles at the same time.

you should be able to run all the bluetooth devices from the one dongle
The range depends on the quality of kit but in my experience cheap bluetooth gives better range than cheap wireless
18 usb devices is remarkable but a keyboard is a very slow device so it won't affect or be affected by bandwidth much, also are all the other devices working at the same time ?

Plug the dongle into the USB or whatever port you have to plug it into. Then install the bluetooth drivers and software then make sure your keyboard and muse are bluetooth compatible and same with phone then do the search for bluetooth devices in the My Bluetooth Places.

I'm now a days using a bluetooth keyboard mouse and Keyboard and it work fine and i love playing and using it it has enough range of 10 meters and quite affordable. so better you go for it only you will require to buy a good rechargeable batteries and charger as it eats power (not use). it uses batteries in keyboard and mouse.
so if you buy wirless keyboard/mouse or Bluetooth spend a bit extra and buy Rc batteries and charger so to save ur lots of money in future.

get the best dongle you can.. latest BT specification... and use the mfg stack... the microsoft stack lacks somewhat for certain uses.

I recently started using my BT headset with my computer... it works great allover the house... voice chats are cool and usefull now..
