The worst presidsents Colliege, and Harding both were in bed with anybody willing to spend the money. Andrew Johnson since he was drunk, and did not understand how to resolve the civil war crisis. Bush is low average but far from the worst. Uyslsses S Grants as a drunkard and chief, and ran a spoils system.
Nixon was bad that just because he got caught doing illegal things that other president got away with. LBJ probadly worse than Nixon because of Vietnam and creating the conditions for stangation in the 1970s. Duyda will be ranked in the bottom 15, but I dont think he will in 20 years be rated as poorly people think.

Reading the bios of past presidents is interest, however we all have the freedom to choose.
William H. Taft (1909-13): At 325 pounds, he was more interesting in eating then running the country. He was the first President to make an automobile the primary mode to transportation for the President. More often then not, would sleep during cabinet meetings. During his administration most important achievement (signing of the GAT with Great Britain) Taft snuck out to play a game of golf. Leaving Archie Butt to feed a line of BS about the President was called back to the White House for a 'matter of grave importance'.
Franklin D Roosevelt (1933-45): FDR wanted into the action of WW2, but could figure out how the get his (our) foot in the door. That is until the attack of Pearl Harbor on December 07th, 1941. He courted Churchill and Stalin as allies. Stalin laid the ground work, and FDR accepted. That would help Russia gain control of Eastern Europe and provide the foundation of the "Cold War". Then we have the 'New Deal', that was at best, unconstitutional, as stated by the Supreme Court, and 'an abuse of executive power'. Then there is the genocide of the Jews, which FDR was entirely knowledgeable of, but could have cared less about.
James E. Carter (1977-81): Jimmy may have been the best 'micro-manager' this country has ever seen. He was (is) a great humanitarian.........BUT that does not equal the smarts to be the 'leader of the free world'. Tehran embassy, November 1979. Oil embargos, fuel shortages that caused skyrocketing prices. The return of control of the Panama Canel, which the Chinese now control. He's the only president that reported see a UFO! The 'football' was not allowed on the 'president's property', instead the military attache was ten miles away. What would have happen if a nuke attack was set off by Russia?, oh well! National security was not a high priority to this peanut farmer, nor was the double digit inflation.
William J. Clinton (1993-2001): Unfortunately for him (and US), he had three 'passions'. Politics, lying and sex. There is far to many things about this president to list. Draft-dodger, aiding the Chinese with nuke tech, Ken Starr, NAFTA, Ruby Ridge, Waco, Brady Bill (firearms), then Whitewater, Travelgate, Filegate, Osma-Bin-Laden.........and on and on and on.

Washington Post has it nearly right. Buchanan, certainly but Bush ranks up this for first place too. Andrew Johnson never had a chance in grappling with Radical Republicans waving the bloody shirt, Nixon as dangerous and paranoid as he was at least was elected, not appointed by the USSC after a right wing coup.
Madison with his treaty and sediton acts ranks up there as well but I have to say Bush is the worst.

I point to this article that compares Bush to Buchanan and Johnson, often considered the worst presidents, although I'd add Harding to the list.

George W. Bush is at the top of the list, no one in the history of presidents has ever led so many astray nor divided the nation so much and helped the rich over the poor so much as George W. I shall not make a judgement on his religious beliefs all i shall say there is there is a statement often quoted that does apply to them so for the religious right which has been so duped by this administration remember we as christians are known by our works not our words.

I can only speak from a direct experience. I am sure the historians can create a list of worse presidents but in my 50 years - I give Bush the prize for worse president ever. He terrifies me more than any other. He is arrogant, violent, lacks sound judgement, and he directs through fear. I am ashamed that the leader of the U S A has not educated himself about other cultures. He has alienated the world through many actions and words. He does not utilize planful diplomacy to resolve conflict, he resorts to violence and fear.
Buchanan, Johnson, Maidison and Nixon may have been bad presidents but they did not directly impact my life and they did not piss off people who may respond by using a nuclear weapon, flying airplanes into skyscrapers or blowing up trains.
SO in case you missed my answer - George W. Bush is by far the worse president the U S has ever endured.

Bush, hands down no doubt. I am not sure about the first two and Madison as all I have is history books to go by. I really do not think that Nixon was that bad, he at least fessed up for his mistakes. Even though he didn't pay for them. Ronald Reagan, ranks up there behind Bush as far as doing the job of president. He was popular but really he was well over match for the job. He reached his level of incompetency. Johnson was a good man that did a bad job. Got caught up with the chicken hawks and escalated the war. His social policy's was exemplary, a good start that need to be tweaked. Reagan did that but your off of the government dole with no real solution, like work training or something to give these people a chance. I could live with Bush Sr. he was ok. Not great, not bad but somewhere in between. Ford was a good, honest man that did a bad thing pardoning Nixon. Clinton was the best thing since FDR. I didn't know FDR but the history book was not old enough to distort history and every thing that I read he was great. I would still vote for Clinton if I could and even with his personal problems was probably the best I have seen in my short 60 at the job of running the business of the country. So to answer your question I would have to put Bush first, and then Reagan, and a maybe Nixon, and leave the last two blank.

The bush family has taken over 1 billion dollars from Saudi Arabia, and the money to support the 9/11 hijackers was routed through banks controlled by the bush family. Also, why was America grounded while the bin laden family jetted out? Nobody has ever answered that satisfactorily, something really stinks with this president.

I'm not real familiar with all the presidents we've had in the United States...I would say a President who parties and does nothing to help the American peoples' condition, whether it be high taxes, cost of living, foreign affairs that keep us safe and, if possible, at peace.
Such things a President needs to keep abreast of, and to represent the best interest of all the people of this great Country.
A do nothing President, or a meddling President, a thief, a lady's man...frightened, incompetent men, we don't need in the White House.
I think George W. Bush is one of the most courageous and brave men we've had in the White House in a long time.
How can the Washington Post be right when we have a good economy, high stock market, low taxes with greater personal deductions, etc....
Sure, we have terrorists, but George W. Bush did not create them - they attacked us - remember?
Don't believe what you read in the newspapers. Go research for yourself. Stand up and be counted. Not a repeater of bad news, lies or someone else's opinion. Think for yourself. Do your research. Get all the facts.
Jimmy Carter and Dwight Eisenhower were bad news for us, but President William Jefferson Clinton was the worse President, in my opinion--in recent times.

puzzling to assert, thinking "worse" might want to intend such a range of of a range of of issues to different human beings. some can say they could base it on the business gadget, some might want to base it on politics, yet others on some key experience interior our own usa. i'd in my view say Andrew Jackson. in spite of everything the strife this usa went with the help of with the Brother VS Brother warfare to manage the challenge of slaver in u . s . a ., After the demise of President Lincoln, he sat on his butt and did not implement any of the differences that the warfare further about. He did not replace something or carry to the rules to the point that actual issues contained in the south went decrease back to the way they were before the warfare. human beings were mistreated, nonetheless enslaved and killed with the aid of plantation vendors. there have been continued battles after the warfare because rebels refused to regulate their procedures and allow slaves bypass loose. humorous although you had to absolutely say "except for president Bush". yet i understand why, mostly because maximum of those idiots didn' t study history and under no circumstances lived with the help of any very nearly not undemanding situations. They weren't there to work out Jimmy Carter's many mistakes. effective, he might want to have purely been a reliable ole peanut farmer, yet shall we face it....intense gas expenditures ? intense nutrition expenditures ? no longer to point the wait and be conscious approaches of the Iranian hostages. Then there change into that little be counted of handing the administration of Iran over to radical non secular zelots. yet i'm effective there continues to be some fool available prepared to safeguard Carter.Nixon spread out China for us, i'm no longer effective the position human beings might want to guage his moves or presidency "worse" for. human beings bash Mr. Bush cuz the leftist of this usa have made it the "in" element and it truly is the purely time they have had a topic of their little international. maximum those who Bash Bush do'nt even understand what he has done and for some reason refuse to provide the democratically managed congress the a lot deserved credit for blocking off his projects, undermining his efforts and preventing improvements to this usa fullyyt in accordance with their egocentric opt to smash his popularity and income political ability at the same time as the american citizen change into getting screwed .
