What is the worst natural disaster you have ever been through??

when i was 12, i went through a tornado. i was really scared because it was eating everything in sight. I was home alone and i had to think of something. i ran into my cellar. Its still a mystery of what happened to my parents. That was the worst natural diaster ive been through.

I've been through snowstorms, ice storms, rainstorms, a flood, thunderstorms and have been close to tornadoes, but not actually in one, except when we lived in a trailer, so I'd have to say the ice storm. I had to drive about 60 miles and back and it was the scariest thing I've gone through. We saw dozens of cars in the ditches. Not a pretty sight.

In 1982 I was in Hurricane Iwa in Hawaii, had a 2 month old baby and no power for a few days.

I went through hurricanes Frances and Jeanne in 2004; we lost our apartment and I got a nice dent in the back of my car from a flying piece of someone's back porch. We fared pretty well compared to many, many people though; none of our belongings were completely damaged and family-wise we were all okay :)
