Best remedy for cold in the throat is gargling with warm salt water (one tablespoon of it in a glass of warm water) morning and night. Do not take cold drinks, ice-cream, alcohol or smoke. In the nights if the weather is cold, keep windows closed and allow just enough air in so that it is comfortable. In cold season, the nights (when we are fast sleep) become colder so that in the morning one gets up with a sore throat and a cold. Take care not to keep the fans on full blast and if possible (when it is very cold) switch them off. Avoid sleeping in AC rooms. Take warm drinks such as tea, coffee, chicken soup during daytime..

Cold In My Throat

Your vocal cords have gone on strike. They will swell during a cold or the flu. Coughing makes it worse by irritating them further, and gives a sensation of something in your throat that you can't cough up. Don't worry; it's not dangerous and will heal on its own.
