Yeah, it's a very nice country. I'm sure people from there would agree.

NO!!!!! ...It is now just a pathetic little country that gives the minority its wishes and makes the majority suffer. Many died in 2 world wars to keep it British ( before i was born) WHY ?.. they died for nothing. Britain has a monarchy that is the head of the church of England but the countries people cannot or are not allowed to celebrate its major religous celebrations because it offends other religions. ( I am not religous ) but is this not a breach of this country being a democracy. If we go to live or visit a foreign country we have to respect that countries code and religion, so why do we the British have to change because they are here, should they not accept what they find. Teachings of St George and the George Cross flag or even the Union Jack and most surprisingly the wearing of an England shirt are becoming are now treated as insulting other nationals living in this country. Also it is illegal to say anything racist to these types of people, is that not racist to Great Britain’s nationals. Besides no matter what colour your skin or what religion you follow if you are born in Great Britain are you not a British person ,,,THEREFORE ,,, you can only really state that you are BRITISH and all that applies in this country applies to you. Its time overall tolerance to colour religion or from where you are descended is just accepted. Then we may live in a Great Britain where you can live normally and be friendly to all. I now think that prejudice is going to increase because the way the bureaucrats make people have to comply to others will force it upon us. Who knows is this once great nation that was fought for by many with the loss of their lives heading for a civil war or ethnic cleansing....I hope not...but one day something is going to snap in this land. If you don’t want this why not use the one British right you have....THE RIGHT TO LEAVE IF YOU DO NOT LIKE IT>

From wikipedia:

Great Britain refers to the largest of the British Isles. The word "Great" simply means "larger" (no connection with "greatness" in other senses is intended) in contrast to Brittany, a historical term for a peninsula in modern France that largely corresponds with the present day French province of Bretagne. That region was settled by many British immigrants during the period of Anglo-Saxon migration into Britain, and named "Little Britain" by them. The French term "Bretagne" now refers to the French "Little Britain", not to the British "Great Britain", which in French is called Grande-Bretagne.

So in that sense, yes, it's great!

It is still Great Britain because the Queen of England still "rules" in some places of the old British empire.

Yup, Rule Brittania. Other countries think they're great, but how many actually says it in their title? That was some shrewd marketing strategy don't you think?
