My son is ten months old and this morning he woke up with a swollen right eye. It did not seem to be bothering him but it's bothering me. There is a small red area beneath his eye as well. His left eye is slightly swollen, not as bad. When he went to bed they were find. Any suggestions or opinions?

Hi Friend,
I think it is a common problem everyone faced. Because in our it is spreading fastly for past one month. we named it as "Madras Eye". The symptoms of this diseasee are, Reddish eye, painful, sleepless and swollen. can be easily recover from this diseas. It will take 2 - 3 days time to become normal (if you take treatment). In our country (India) the medicines are very cheap and best. The eye drops cost only $ 1. An important point, you should consult doctor before taking eye drops. One more thing, Don't look your child's eye continuously, it will affect your eyes too. But don't want to worry. Thank you for your commitment. Good bye.

I would say it's an allergic reaction to something, or is he just tired so his eyes are still puffy ? If it doesn't clear up soon, or gets worse, take him to the doctor. I second the breast milk on the eye as well, if the baby is breast fed.

It may just be a sinus infection that you havent noticed that has travled up the tear ducts. Take him to the doc to find out... It doesnt sound like pink eye, but to be sure wash your hands every time you touch him. Good luck! hope everything turns out well.
