u have to seal it first. see your local hardware store, they can advise u what product to use. some sealers can be bought with a glossy finish. or you may have to apply a finishing product on it.

Not sure what your floor is made of. We've had good luck with a product called Zep on our vinyl flooring. Using it required a 4-step process (and 4 Zep products) to strip off all the old wax, wash the floor thoroughly, apply the dressing, and then seal the flooring. But it's lasted a long time and is easy to take care of. We got it at the Home Depot, but there is also a Zep website. See link below. If your floor is an older wood floor that you're not quite ready to refinsih by sanding, staining, and sealing, we've had good luck with a product called Rejuvenate. Also see the link below.
