To beat the other teams like Zimbabwe,Bangaladesh,Kenya, UAE and for gaining experience from them. This one will be useful to beat Aussies,Pak,SL and WI .

This questions arose even during the last world cup.But people kept quiet as India reached the finals more important defeated Pakistan.
Now the same problem with only 3 months 2 the world cup Indian team is in shambles with many new inexperienced players.Maybe inclusion of Zaheer Khan,Laxman and Ganguly insted of RP singh/Raina will bring the much needed confidence and experience .

Every team has good and bad times. Just because of pathetic performance in one series, no team should stop playing. If that is the case many other teams should have been stop playing cricket long back.

because when the british were ruling india . india was a commonwealth games member so india was 1 of them. when britishers came they introduced cricket and then teams were formed in terms of religion - muslims , hindus etc.so later when india bcame free it still had a cricket team
