why do things appear laterally inverted when u see them through a glass of water...??

It's to do with Refraction of light, the speed of light changes depending on whta it is traveling through. For your question when you see something in water the speed of light is slower than it is in air, so the light is bent.

I did try to see things through glass of water. I do not see any lateral inversion. Question needs to be further clarified.
