Is that for every web page, or just one or two? Click the start button, then click run, then type "command" and hit enter. This will give you a command prompt. Type "ping Yahoo.com" and hit enter. If it receives data and gets replies, it will say 0% loss. Now ping the site you are trying to connect to and see if their site is down. When done with the command prompt, type "exit", then hit enter.

There is a problem either with the wiring or the modem.
For the modem, you may need to install a new driver for it
