Did you know the government accepts donations by cheques in the mail?

But seeing how we are taxed and we often think of other causes rather than the government, would you donate money to this?

I thought I was doing that by paying my taxes!

Absolutely not. I did not cause the National Debt. The US government spends more than it gets in taxes and donations. So there is nothing to stop Congress and the Administration from spending more if they get more.
The debt averages out to about $13,000 per person. How would 300 million people come up with the money?

No I wouldn't donate money to the National Debt....the taxes I'm paying should already be taking care of that!

I'm curious how long it is going to take the newly elected Democratic majority Congress to bring legislation forward to vote themselves raises.

I'll donate money when the people that are raping the Welfare System agree to stop accepting fraudulent payments.

NO FREAKING WAY. People should give as little money to the government as possible.

To end the national debt all we have to do is stop wasting money, we don't need to increase payments to the government.

We don't even have to cut any spending programs, just limit the built-in rate of growth in the stupid things. But every time Republicans (especially conservatives) try to stop wasting money by limiting the rate of built-in growth in a spending program, the left-wing media reports it as a "cut" and then starts doomsday rants set to violin music.

we already do donate money, it's called taxes. but instead of doing progressive things like paying down the debt, the government pumps money into the military. the governemtn gets a sh*t load of cash, they just need to learn how to use it instead of throwing it away.

not with liberals poised to wratchet it back up next year...clinton took credit for what clearly was the cycled effect of the reagan tax cuts and no other liberal since the 1914 income tax inception has showed any postive cash flow at all for the national debt.

Goodness, I don't know why. The last time we had a budget surplus all the Dems wanted to do was spend it. Of course, they weren't around long enough so GWB had to do it for them. Now they're back so up, up, and away!
