Make up won't make you ugly when you get older, unless you don't know how to wear it and have too much on.
They are probably concerned with you wanting to wear makeup if you are young.
When you wear make up, it's suppose to highlight your features. It's suppose to look like you aren't wearing any makeup. Get a older friend that you would trust to give you some good advice and help.

Always clean the makeup off at night and use a moisturizer.

If you're in the sun a lot use a sunscreen too.

i've heard that you will have much worse skin, but not necessarily be uglier. Although, having bad skin does make a person less attractive, so in a way, yes. not uglier as such (as in your features) but yes as in your skin will look a lot worse. also, whether the answer is yes or no, i would not ecommend you wear makeup from a young age, because, once people get used to seeing you with makeup, if they ever see you without it, they will be surprised because you will not look as good as they are used to seeing you (doesn't mean you will look bad though). but if you don't wear makeup all the time, when you go out with your friends and wear some makeup, people will be pleasantly surprised, and think how pretty you look with makeup, but also that you are natural and dont overdo it.

that said, wearing a small amount of makeup once in a while boosts a teenagers confidence, but wihout going over the top.

Hi, my mum started wearing makeup when she was 15 (foundation and eyeshadow, and lipstick) and now she is 45 and looks about 30! Her hairdresser was shocked that she was over 40, mum said she had a big birthday coming up and the hairdresser thought 30!! I think the reason is that mum always used foundation with a sunscreen in it (like rimmel) and because 80% of wrinkles are caused by sun damage, that is why she hasn't got any wrinkles. I would say the only problem with makeup is that because she is used to it, she is too scared to ever take it off, and so is stuck with it every day. That is the only thing to worry about. Oh, and make sure you never sleep with it on.

Most of us wore makeup when we were young, do you think most women over 40 look ugly?. I don't think wearing it will make you look ugly when you are older I think it's in your genes, look at your Mum and Aunts do you think they look ugly, you may get spots etc if you dont cleans your face properly before going to bed. Whoever told you wearing makeup would make you ugly when you are older is probably jealous of you because you look pretty, know what makes young girls look really pretty I think is a little vaseline on your eyelids to make them shiny, mascara, a touch of rouge and some see through colour on your lips. If you are trying to look dramatic concentrate on one feature lips, eyes or makeup but don't go over the top on all three, personally speaking I choose the mirror of the soul the eyes there is so much you can do with them, sit at the mirror and practice

If you were to cover your skin in cling-film for thirty years, how do you think it would look when you took the cling film off?

Yes if you use it un-necessarily, it WILL age you more when you are older. Expect to look 30 when you are 20, 45 when you are 30 and so on till you look 100 at 50!

If you have no need of make-up yet, then why use it? If however you are already ugly, then plaster it on....what have you got to loose?

Take the advice about it depending on what brand you buy or how much you pay with a very LARGE pinch of salt, they may believe this, and wish to waste their money this way, but I am guessing that you are more sensible than this.

Think about old ladies that always wear make-up, and 'make-up' your own mind.

LESS is definitely BEST!

Absolutely not! They are only telling you this to stop you from looking too old for your age especially seeing as you're only 14. But there is no fire without a spark and the true advice here is that wearing make-up can cause skin problems so unless you feel you must wear it I would save it for special occasions it means your skin will be clearer. Some make up can be harsh and dry your skin out which causes wrinkles but the secret is to experiment and find a gentle brand that suits you and the most important thing is to clean every last scrap of it off. Make up is enjoyable and gives lots of women confidence so I'd say use it but be gentle with you lovely young face you only have one!

No, but you'll probably become "addicted" to makeup, meaning that you will feel like you cannot leave the house without makeup. This will probably cause you to "feel" more ugly.

If you want to start wearing makeup when you are 14, go ahead, but be sure to take care of your skin (don't let it break out or dry out). This will make sure that you will always look lovely!

I hope I helped!

It wont make you ugly just look older than you are.
It drys out your skin and ages it! Make sure you always remove it properly and use a very good moisturiser every night. Be careful how much eye make up you use too. You need a specialist eye moisturiser!
As a young girl you shouldn't even need it but if you must wear it then use the lightest possible! Heavy make-up is not attractive at any age!!

I don't believe that this is a true statement. Wearing a lot of makeup can make you look much older and cause you skin to crack....

that is rubbish.

u just get called a few names possibly.

a serious answer, i know the girls are watching.

look after ur skin.

try to use a moisturiser. a nice light one, not too oily. it preserves the skin and acts as a barrier against nasties.

try to eat a healthy diet with LOADS of vitamins. salads are excellent.

avoid excess of fatty or junk food.

avoid excess of alcohol. it is terribly ageing, believe me. i know on this one.

try to avoid sadness. it has the same effect as above.

do NOT smoke. i see really pretty girls smoking. it is heartbreaking, knowing what they will look like in 10 or 20 years time.

i prefer to see what girls actually look like.

i find just enough makeup to be the best and no more. i agree with makeup in principle and find just right to be highly desirable, depending on the wearer! too much does nothing for me at all.

there are loads of sites and people who can help u to find exactly the right level. try typing in:- makeover to ur search engine and have a look.

I wish u an excess free and happy life !!
