I wanna go! Help?

You said this is the job you have dreamed about, well follow your dream sometimes we have to make ourselves happy.Belive me I have done it and I don't have any regret's.Parent's sometimes don't want to let go,but the truth is this your life and you have to make it better and make yourself happy.your homes will always be there and if your parents are smart they will always be there for you no matter what.and it sounds like you will always be in touch with your family no matter where life takes you.good luck

Is there any reason not to? Other than fear of the unknown? If this is something that you really want to do, you wouldn't be here asking an opinion. I would think it will give you a life time of memories, and broaden your perspective on people and places.I have a whole list of things that I regret not doing, all because someone in my life" wasn't sure if it was a good thing for me to do" Be prudent about how you go about it. Don't give up your house, sub-lease or get someone to house-sit it until you know if you will be away for a long time or not.Don't burn your bridges with your family, let them know, you'll stay in contact. Then, do what your heart tells you to do!

You can listen to your family and live with the regret of not going to the job on the island resort. Or you can live the life you want. No one is able to live the life you have. Your parents may wish you stay with them but THEY ARE NOT the ones who got the job offer nor are they going to be living down there. It's tough when you have to make big decisions like this but remember you can only live your life once so you gotta make it all worthwhile.

If it pays well enough to not struggle, if it's your dream job, and it could lead to a long term career, you should do it.
Does this island not have planes or boats going to and fro? Can you never visit your family again? Can they never visit you?

Just save up some money when you're there so that if you need to fly to your family in an emergency, it'll not be a problem.
