Have you tried going to control panel, System, Hardware (tab), Device Manager (Button) and removing it? It should still have the drivers. Remove it from the list, reboot, then it should find the new hardware and reinstall the correct drivers.

i don't know why kevin got the thumbs down for his answer. he is exactly right. the driver for that network adapter, which is built in and integrated on that machine, is on the windows xp disk. all you have to do is remove the device in your device manager, reboot, it will then may or may not prompt you for the XP disk, then you are good to go.

The specifications of dell inspiron notepad is at "http://shopping.msn.com/specs/shp/?itemId=24529280". The driver CD is bundled alongwith the notepad. Please insert it in the CD drive and install the network adapter drivers from there.
