I am a die hard makeup girl myself - always have been. And I've only been able to find one mascara (for a reasonable price) that both lengthens and thickens your lashes in black or brown. And that's L'Oreal Voluminous. You can find it at your local drug store, Wal-Mart, Target, etc.
However, I disagree that you should only wear black mascara with dark hair, and brown with light. I feel it depends on the time of day and the occasion. If you're going for a light day look and you have lighter hair, you may want to go with a brown mascara. But, I feel you should have both colors in your artillery, especially if it's evening and you're going for a sultry, smokey look, which is where the black mascara comes in.
All the makeover shows that are in right now explain that you want your eyes to pop. And a good rule of thumb is this: If you're accentuating your eyes with a dark shadow/eyeliner/mascara, whatever, you want light, pale lips. And if you're wearing light mascara, go for a darker lip shade, regardless of your hair color.

Brown mascara will give you a natural, subtle look and Black mascara will give you a more dramatic look. Regardless of the color, the mascara will serve the same purpose: thickening and lengthening; personally I like L'Oreal Paris Volume Shocking 2 step mascara because it has a primer and mascara. Start with a coat of the white primer which makes the lashes appear fuller and follow with a coat of mascara.

Color is the only difference. Brown is more natural especially if you are a blonde. Blondes shouldnt ever use black mascara it makes them look washed out. Brown makes it less dramatic and is good more daytime looks but I would use black at night.

you're an extremely fantastically female with a super pores and skin tone. i desire to propose, on account that your eyes are darkish, to pass with a easy beige (sand shade) as a BASE, and spotlight that shade with a dismal Brown or Golden shade eye shadow in the OUTER CREASE of your eyes. (do no longer ignore to combination the colors gently so as that there at the instant are not any harsh edges!) pass with BLACK mascara. I especially propose Mary Kay products of you desire high quality....in any different case, something you get at a dept. keep or Walmart will do merely superb. Your hair shade is merely superb, yet very easy highlights could extra healthful you nicely too.

It's not true, color is the only difference. Brown is a bit more subtle, although the difference btw black and brown is not that big. I've tried both and went back to black.

well, to decide which looks more natural, i need to know what color your hair is, and it all depends on what you are going for. if u r going for natural just to add a tint or thickness to it, it woulb probably be the brown, and it is thick if u get the right kind. If you have a darker blonde, a red, brown or black, i would reccomend the black. especially if u want length and thickness.

It works the same way, but if you have a brown eyes use the black mascara to show more of your eyes, and vice-versa.
