V Kalyanam, now 82, had the divine opportunity to work as a secretary and learn under Gandhiji from 1944 till his assassination in January 1948. Kalyanam was just a few inches away when Nathuram Godse assassinated the Mahatma.

Kalyanam later went to London and worked as Edwina Mountbatten's secretary. He returned a few years later and then worked for C Rajgopalachari and Jayaprakash Narayan.

Pyarelal Nayyar (? - 1982) was the personal secretary of Mahatma Gandhi in his later years. (Link 1)

Also his "beloved secretary" Mahadev Desai who was the personal secretary to Mahatma Gandhi from 1917 to 1942. (link 2)
