If you have storage space, you could rotate the clothes you're unsure of to a box or rack in the attic or basement. Make sure to put a date on them. Next year, give away the clothes that are still hanging there.

Sometimes it's hard to let go... especially if it has fond memories attached to it. However, clothes do not last forever... t-shirts will loose their soft feel, anything with elastic will no longer stretch.. who would want to keep those in the closet?... so if: doesn't fit, faded/old, outdated style... get rid of it.

Well, I can't predict the future, so I base it on the past. If I haven't worn it in one year, I won't likely wear it in the next year, so it goes! (Some people use two years as a rule--do whatever works for you.)

I find this hard. But If you don't say a definite yes to it straight away then be ruthless and chuck it out. I often find myself saying 'oh, I keep that in case.....or that'll do for....' when really deep down you know it's no.

Unless it's something formal, if I haven't worn it in a year, I get rid of it. Also, if I buy something new, like a skirt, I'll see if I have a skirt I can get rid of in its place.

If you haven't worn it in a year, out it goes.
Good luck with your cleaning.
