What blocking me from cleaning disk?

I try to clean my disk in the pc maintenance to delete some unnessesarry files.. A window comes up and starts to compress the files. But it doesnt run, just says " It might take a few minutes to compress the files" Nothing happens, can go for hours. What is blocking me?

If the cleanup utility won't run correctly, delete temp files and defragment your disk.

Better you do onething that you manually delete all unneccesary files instead doing it from that wat way.
