Almost all of the countries in the wortld have signed the kyoto Accord agreement, but a few have not ratified or met the standards. Australia and the United states, and parts of the middle east do not hold up and ratify their end of the bargain
this is a map of the countries that do maintain their part of the agreement.

2 of the big ones are Australia and the US. One of the main reasons why the 2 didnt ratify it was because countries like India and China refused to sign it. The reason why india and China refused to sign was because they were saying why should we, the gases up there are not our gases they're your gases so whats the point. The thing is India and China between them hold a third of the worlds population are are slowly becoming industrialised. Imagine the amount of energy they are going to need when they do become completely industrialised which they will.

We need a new Kyoto agreement which includes nations like China and India who are becoming industrialised very quickly and whose energy needs are going to be enormous with over a billion people in each country.

I believe if this new agreement was implemented, countries like Australia and the US will come on board. Im an Aussie and am not happy that we havnt ratified the agreement, but at the same time something has to be done which says ok although China and India and other nations are not as industrialised we need an agreement that says ok when you guys do become industrialised you'll come on board with this too.

I know Australia and the USA are not ratifying it even though they signed...surprise surprise...the USA signed an agreement and aren't holding up to it. Another example: NAFTA

And its the "Kyoto Agreement", named after the Japanese city the conference was held in.
