while you hear the expession " a man is king of his castle" i think its really more " a woman is queen of her castle",,,, each woman most likely has ideas of how things should be done in the home,,,, and sometimes these can conflict,,,,, a young married woman will want/should be in charge of her own home,, so having a mother or mother-in -law there also, can cause conflict, if the older woman doesnt realize its the young womans time to rule,,,,,
this is just a generalization,,, some women get along fine, some youner women dont want to be in charge, etc
men dont usually get that emotional as women, or they dont show it,,, nor do they get that into household things,,,,,
the solution is really in which home is lived in, if its the mothers, then the wife will have to accept that she must wait until she has her own home
if its the wifes home, the mother should then defer to the wife,,,,
when you live in someones home, even for a long time, you should act like a quest,,, and the owner of the home should act like a host,,,,

It's the nature of the human female. You don't have to like it, but you do have to accept it.
