The last has particular significance for me. On Christmas Even in 1979 I was a my mother's bedside in hospital where she was terminally ill. We were in a side ward and the schoolchildren had arrived and were singing Carols in the main ward. They started to sing 'Oh Little Town of Bethlehem' and as they reached the line that says 'Beneath thy deep and dreamless sleep, the silent stars go by.' my dear mother slipped away. I can never hear that Carol without thinking of that sad time but it may be that God, in his wisdom, chose that time for her passing.
