W-S=20.............................(1)
(W+8) / (S+8)=2................(2)
Convert W=20+S
Replace W in (2)
((20+S)+8) / (S+8)=2
(28+S)/(S+8)=2
(28+S)=2(S+8)
28+S=2S+16
28+S-S=2S-S+16
28=S+16
12=S
Place into (1)
W-12=20
W=32
Wymon is 32 yearsold and Sabrina is 12.
**When you do questions like these try to make two variables that you are finding which is the age of both now.
Let's say W is Wymon's age today.
Let's say S is Sabrina's age today.
Then make two equations based on that and what you know.
Since you know that Wymon is 20 years older than Sabrina today, you can make a subtraction question...
W-S=20
Then you also know that in eight years Wymon will be twice Sabrina's age. Don't worry about the double part yet, let's focus on Wymon's Age and Sabrina's Age in 8 years...
W+8 --Wymon's age in 8 years
S+8 --Sabrina's age in 8 years.
Now use these as variables. You know that Wymon's age in 8 years is double that of Sabrina's so you can now write the new equation...
(W+8) / (S+8) = 2
So now you have the two equations. Now, make one of the equations only have one type of variable. To do this, you have to isolate one of the variables of one of the equations to one side. You can pick either equation, but it is best to use the simplest, thus we choose W-S= 20. You can choose whichever variable to isolate, I just happened to choose W.
W=S+20.
Now you have to fit this into the 2nd equation. You see the W in the second equation. Replace that W with S +20 because you know that W is equalled to that.
(W+8) / (S+8) = 2
-> ( S+20 +8) / (S+8) =2
Then solve for S. This is possible now since there is only one variable in the entire sentence. S you find is 12. So now you know Sabrina's age. But we still need to know Wymon's. To do this you have to replace the S with 12 in either of the first two equations we found. However, the first one is alot easier than the second one, so let's use the first one.
W-S =20
W-12=20
W=32
So now you know Wymon's age is 32.
Personally I don't like giving answers like this. So I hope you read this part. Just keep practicing and you'll be a pro at this. Good luck

let x be the age of sabrina
age of wymon is x+20
given after 8 years the of wymon will be twice of sabrina.
ie.
x+20+8/x+8 = 2
x+28 = 2x+16
x = 12.
age of sabrina= 12 and wymon = 32

let
x = sabrina age
20 + x = Wymon
2x + 8 = wymon will be 2 times sabring age in 8 years
- - - - - - - - --
The equation
20 + x = 2x + 8
20 + x - x = 2x + 8 - x
20 = x + 8
20 - 8 = x + 8 - 8
12 = x. . .Sbrina is 12 years old
The answer is x = 12
Insert the x value into the equation
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
20 + x = 2x + 8
20 + 12 = 2(12) + 8
32 = 24 + 8
32 = 32
- - - - - - - - -
Wynon is 32 years old
Sabrina is 12 yers old

t.0 w=20+s , at t.8 w+8=2(s+8) so w=2s+8=20+s thus s = 12 w=32, check 40 = 2(12+8)

w=s+20 (now)
w+8=2(s+8) (after 8 years, s+8 because sabrina will get older too)
so it become w+8=2s+16
w=2s+16-8
w=2s+8
if we use it in our first equation;
w=s+20 will become
2s+8=s+20 so 2s-s=20-8 s=12 and w=32

let the present ages be w and s
the equations
w=s+20
w-s=20
w+8=2(s+8)
=>w+8=2s+16
w-2s=8
w-s=20
subtracting
s=12
sub w=32
the present age os wymon is 32 and that od sabrina is 12

w-s=20....(1)
w+8=2*(s+8)...(2)
w-2s=8...(3)(got from 2)
(1)-(3) ,and we get
s=12
and then
w=32
