It's ignorance and fear combined with a bunch of media hype. Not all Child Sexual abusers were victims of abuse: about 90% were themselves victims of various types of abuse.

You're right things have gotten out of hand. If you take the time to talk to the most hateful answers you will find those people don't care a bit about victims, they just want to demonize someone.

I'm including resources where you can find people working for a sane solution to child sexual abuse. The first one is my group, and the second a link to articles I have written on this subject.

I work in child sexual abuse prevention and it's these vigilante idiots who are making it next to impossible to get abusers to seek help; in other words they are helping to victimize our children. As far as I am concerned once they've heard this they are just as guilty as any child molester if they don't stop with the hate mongering.

Addition: Some where between1 in20 to 1 in 10 people convicted of Child sexual abuse are falsely convicted.

It is now starting to be accepted that many people who rave about how much they hate child molesters and pedophiles are doing so to hide their own sexual deviancy toward children. Preliminary studies have shown that many people convicted of child sexual abuse were themselves rabid child molester and pedophile bashers.

Pedophilia is not a mental illness, according to the American Psychological Association it is a Paraphilia.

Child sexual abusers are the least likely to commit a sexual offence only a 3.3% recidivism rate; here are the facts from the Department of Justice.

http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/crimoff.htm

Less then 1% of all child sexual abusers are child sex predators.

In 95% of all child sexual abuse cases the victim and abuser know each other.

Harsh punishments and public persecution are keeping victims silent because they don't want to loose their abuser or get them in trouble, because they love them.

More then 99% of child sexual abusers do not intend on hurting their victims, actual rape occurs in less then 1% of all cases; most cases are statutory.

America hates sex offenders because the media are blowing stuff way out of proportion, for ratings, and cannot back up their statistics, and the politicians are using sex offenders as scape goats for votes.

They are the pariah of the 21st century, and are being treated very similiar to how jews, turks, etc were during Hitler's Nazi Regime.

Just wait, Christians, Jews and other non-Muslims will be treated the same way when muslims start doing what they've been saying they were going to do for years.

Sex offenders are a distraction. We need to be worried about muslims, the war, borders, hunger, etc.

About 90% of the sex offenders on the registries are NOT violent sex offenders or pedophiles, so we should only be worried about the other 10%, which the laws were for anyway. But, everyone on the registry is being lumped into one-size-fits-all category and are all being treated as a violent predator who has killed someone, which is totally crap!!!

I am a Christian, and we must learn to forgive like Jesus preached. Hate breeds hate, and will only get worse.

Why must people hate? It doesn't help anything! We've been doing it since the birth of man, and has it helped anything, except maybe to control the population?

If you wake up and look around, you will see the world is becoming a communist world. Just look at Islam, Nazi's, KKK, etc...

We have murderers, dui offenders, gang members, etc, and if everyone with a criminal record, which I think should be, if we are to put sex offenders on registries, you'd see almost the entire population has some type of offense, and you'd probably not want to come out of your house from fear...

This is not entirely opinion but also based on some personal experience with abuse. It is simple to me as it should be every responsible thinking adult...TO GOVERN ONESELF! TO HAVE SOME CONTROL! The child that has been abused should be the obvious example of how to treat a child and not abuse them.I know and remember the pain of being abused and the emotional scaring, knowing I was and am different from almost every other person I know, makes me a more dedicated mother and advocate of childrens rights, because I know that children are so vulnerable and innocent and easy to scar that they should be nurtured and protected and loved, not abused in the same way I was. It would be like abusing myself again or to abuse my inner child. Impossible, the child molester knows the damage his or her acts will have on their victims, all child molesters are comitting a crime against nature and they do this as a willfull act. This willfull act is against the law and this is indeed a punishable offense.I do have sympathy and understanding for those adults whom have survived this horror...right up to the time when they themselves become the aggressor then they are a criminal of the worse kind. When people start governing themselves and stop acting on every perverse thought or taking unfair advantage of the younger, smaller, weaker human beings on this earth then we will become a civilized society.

It doesn't matter if they were victims or not. They know the difference between right and wrong and what lines not to cross.

We have all been victims in one form or another during our lifetimes. Most people learn from what they have experienced and work to make the world a better place so others don't have to endure what we have. Child molesters have the choice whether or not to break the chain of molestation. They choose not to. For that reason there should be no compassion when they force themselves on a young innocent child.

Period.

Because child molestors prey on innocent people who can't defend themselves.

Actually the logic that says child molestors are "victims," should also dictate that child-molestor bashers are "victims" too, as according to the philosophy of natural science we are all then merely the summation of internal and external forces.

While I'm sure that some were abused as children, I'm willing to bet some were not. But it seems to be the trend of accused & convicted child molesters to say that they were sexually abused as a child, whether they were or not. Blaming priests (whether you went to church or not) seems to be the quickest way out.

There are many more people who were molested who are not abusers themselves, and are normal people. I just don't buy the fact that every child molester is doing it because they themselves were abused.

Everyone else has pretty much stated why the US hate child molesters. And I agree they are sick, however I also agree with you. They need help. I think that they should be sent to a psych hospital instead of or as well as prison.

People have to take responsibility for their actions. This whole load of crap about a terrible upbringing has nothing to do with it. Nobody has had a perfect life growing up. To blame the past and use that as justification for their actions is ludicrous. In my world if someone molested a child I'd castrate them and put them away for life.

Unusual lust for child is a psychic disorder. It's called Paedophilia. Not only USA but in every country child molestation law is very stringent.
Childs are called the future of a nation and molestation damages the very mind of the child, makes him/her fearful, timid, absentminded and psychologically disordered.
Child molesters should not be spared at any cost and be punished severally to put an example for others.
