it makes no difference you are what you are and people only try to consolidate issues like this when they need an excuse to argue in their favour

its hard being a man its hard being a woman..if you can accept this it will make your life so much easier and if you can have empathy for the opposite sex it will give you greater understanding which will benifit you

trying to fight from whatever side you barrack for like a war will only make you look like a feminist or a sexist and nobody likes people like that

Being a man is harder then being a woman?

Eh..... ok, let me give some reasons why it is more the other way around. (being woman myself)

First of all just look at the position of the woman in the world. Women are much more limited in their freedom, in some countries even to the point that you can't even show your face.
In some countries if you get raped, you can be punished to death for it.

In many countries a woman is considered a whore if she shows any interest in men. The man is considered to be cool when he does the same.

Freedom of travelling is much less for a lot of women on this world. In many countries, a woman travelling all by herself is considered 'asking to get raped'. A man is allowed to travel all he wants. That is a normal thing.

There are millions of women who got their sexual parts amputated each year, because they are not allowed to sexual feelings. The woman is considered to be there to please the man and to raise his children. Otherwise, women are looked up as secondclass citizens.
If this was the case for men, they got their penis amputated in such enourmous amounts a year, I bet that this would be issue number one and be banned soon in the world. Wars would be fought over it.

Even in our so-called free western society, the standards for women are still much different then they are for men. Women are still getting underpaid for jobs in which the man is getting more paid, woman are not being taken as seriously like man are, for example in many discussion subjects.

And again, sexually, the man is cool when he has a sexual appetite but the woman should behave far more modest.
If a woman in our society gets raped, in many cases the comment about it is that they 'asked' for it because they where to friendly, wrongly dressed, travelling alone, or any other stupid reason.

In businesscompanies it is still the man who has more chance to reach the top, simply because women are less been taken seriously. Not because they don't have the brains or guts for it.
A woman has to prove herself much more then a man does.

Many woman who work have to prove that they are a good mother, a good wife, they have to take care for the household, AND they have to prove that they are good employees.
Most men only have one job. They do not also have to work in the household. Nobody will tell him that he is a bad father if he doesn't do the dishes and change diapers when he comes home from work.

Just a few examples.
Anyway, of course both men and women have to live up to certain standards. Being forced in a typical role can give difficulties to both. But I do think that women in this world have definately more difficulties then men have.

Some things like being depended on by a family for support are harder for men. However women have their work cut out for them in other ways. Like having children and raising a family. It is changing now but I dont really think you can say being either is harder than being the other.

Straight men have it easier. Gay men have it harder. This is because western culture and society is male-dominated. Masculinity is considered the epitome of "success", and women and gay men, judged to be without it, are treated poorly.

Is it fair? Of course not. But we can't hide our heads in the sand and pretend we have real equality, even in this day and age.

That's b.s.. Men and women both have certain advantages over each other, and also disadvantages when you compare them. BUT, comparing men and women is completely senseless, except for when it applies to workplace discrimination.
