I have 2 best friends in school.One guy and 1 girl.They both are malay while i m the only chinese.At times when they speak in malay which i dun even understand,i felt left out.It is like being alone.I h8 tat feeling.Whenever i had to ask a qn,they will answer unwillingly.That really made me feel upset.
The girl is not really a maolay.her mum's a chinese and her dad's a malayShe is not a muslim while tat guy is and the guy is also a 100% malay
Whenever i smsed them,they will always take ages to reply even if it was sth important and then they will say tat they had prob wif their mobile phones.It wasn't like this when i 1st knew them.
My mum once told me tat i have to face up,the malays will always "side" wif the malays.Tatz like natural.
Is tat REALLY true and is there no way to stop this frm happening?
I have tried telling them about my feelings but they had never seemed to care.

I think that this is a problem involving your friends themselves and NOT their race. Race has nothing to do with it. It is certainly true that people of the same race may have more things in common because of their cultural background but it never stops people of different races from becoming close friends. I think your friends are simply using the fact that they know a language that you don't to their advantage. Sometimes I feel out of place with my friends and they don't answer when I ask them what they were talking about - and they would have been speaking in english! I say you should either confront them and if they don't care, move on. They don't seem like very nice friends. And also, don't forget that people grow up and drift away. The friendship you had before is not what it is now. So cherish the memories but if they are making you feel this way, drop them. They're not worth it.

Race shouldn't matter. If you've told them how it makes you feel, and they don't seem to care...they're not real friends. A friend is someone who will take the time to listen to you and try to help you feel better. The fact that the are speaking in a different language that you don't understand (in front of you) is straight out rude. My advice is talk to them again. If they still do nothing to correct these problems, ditch them. You don't need people like that in your life. Everyone should be treated with respect and they're not showing you that. There are other people out there who will do the right thing.

If they are your friends, they would take your feelings into consideration and stop talking the way they do around you. Only a true best friend(s) would understand how you feel and stop. I have had to learn the hard way about best friends...

A REAL friendsip will last for a long time no matter what the racial implications are. It doesnt matter. Im white and I can easily make black friends and I dont really care that she is black. All I thik about is havng fun.

You know something I think we have move on from race.(When it comes to picking and choosing friends. I think now-a-days people judge whether or not they want to be your friend by the way you look.

made be they don't understand what you are talking about. have you tried to talk to them one at a time without the other one been there. if so how do they act toward you do they act like they want to talk to you or understand. some people do side with each other. if they don't treat you like you want to be treated you need to find new friends.

race doesn't matter, as long as this idea is two-way. you both have to be willing to step past the racial barrier. if one of you are not, its kinda the end. when that happens, you know that your friend can't exactly considered true. i guess you have to be discerning enough to find out. good luck and btw do you live in singapore.

Race shouldn't matter to people who truly like you. These people don't seem like true friends or they would stick with you and want to be with you. They sound like losers
