It is a protocol developed to use SCSI storage protocol on TCP/IP networks. SCSI is Small Computer System Interface. Just like ATA-IDE, SATA in PCs , it is protocol popular in Servers, SUN workstations. It is costly for smaller storage. In storage area networks, SCSI with RAID protocol is used.
