I have go a laptop and a USB wireless thing. I have been allover the house trying to get the range but some once it worked but it has never since.the USB thing is safecom SWLU-5400 and the house modem is a belkin. I no it works but how do i make it? do some othe the settings need changing or something? ( i have windows ME)

1 Reinstall the software
2 Change the channel output
3 Check your ip address, goto start then run and enter, make sure yourt ip address matches the one on your router

if you're modem is belkin you, it would be more compatible and work better with a belkin USB Wireless Dongle "thing". but if you don't want to buy one more the Aeriel on the router on it and if that doesn't work well phone belkin technical helpline.

my laptop internet is connect through a belkin modem which is on the main computer my dad set it all up 4 me up ringing up belkin they talked him through it all call them they shud help u get it sorted but it only works if u've got ur wireless internet on

if your wireless is working it should connect to any unscured wireless network. I just go to the library and it will boot up and check for a wireless hook up and connect. each wireless connection has a limited area that it will connect, if you are out of that space you will nnot connect
