Get a heater with a thermostat, with this gadget you can set the temperature you want and leave it on for ever, when the temperature tries to go beyond the desired temperature, the thermostat will shut down the heater, when the temperature dips, the heater will be started automatically. You will not need to monitor the temperature at all.

Hi, I have my Angel Fish breeding tank in an AC room, as long as the tank is not in the direct current of the AC System, you shouldnt have problems, monitor the tank temperture and if you have a fresh water tank (Not tropical - were you require a heater) I would suggest relocating the tank to the furthest side of the room away from the AC system, or having a heater extremely low in the tank, maintaining a normal and consistant room temperture. You have to go careful with some AC systems as they take the mositure from the air, becareful that this is not taking away the evaporated water from your tank, you'll find your water levels dropping at a fast rate. But to sum it all up, you shouldnt have a problem if you continue to monitor your fish.

Get a thermometer to put inside the tank. Then you can turn on the A.C. for a longer period of time. If the tank gets too cold you should get an heater. If not just leave the A.C. on longer.

Only tropical fishes need heaters to keep the water warm, for non tropical fishes doesnt matter if the water is hot or cold they still survive ;) so u can keep your AC ON 24/7

from your question it seems u are located in a hot climate. If u run the ac it shouldnt affect your fishes .It also depends on the tank size and the distance from the a/c

You may want to get a heater for the tank. Or at least get an in-tank thermometer.

Keep them warm with the bulb on and have a thermometer installed to monitor the water temperature. This will help you.
