I have recently returned from a holiday abroad, and I have now been passing clots since yesterday. I have also commenced a new progesterone only pill which my doctors have informed me is the reason.

However on holidays I went on a rough boat ride and I am really sore in my left kidney region, im not passing urine well, and when I take any paracetamol for it about half an hour I end up in excrutiating pain in my left thoracic area? Am I being a drama queen??

Sounds to me that the rough ride had bruised your internals. Is there an obvious blue black there, or in the absence of which.....when you press down on the area, do you feel an increase in pain? Any sign of a lump there at all? If the pain is this excruciating, it's your body's way of telling you that it's not well. Please go to your doctor. You're definitely not being a drama queen here. Your body won't give you pain without a valid enough reason.
At the very least, a trip to the doctor, even if nothing is overtly wrong, will place your mind at ease.

I wish you health.

I would speak with your doctor you shouldnt be having that much dicomfort you may have a stone and that could affect the way that you pass urine. You need to have a Urinalisis done at the doctors office and have some lads drawn that would evaluate how well your kidneys are functioning. I am a nurse and I have taken care of many people with kindey stones and It is very painful.

Ask your doctor to do some blood testing because you just don't feel right. But I'll tell you, I work in family planning and I hate progesterone only contraceptives. Are you breast feeding or have blood clot issues that you need to be on that type of birth control? Some people just don't do well with differernt types of pills...mixed or progestin only. It might be the drug messing up your system.

You need to see your doctor. I couldn't say whether or not its a kidney stone, kidney infection or a reaction to your medications. That is what doctors are for. Don't mess around with your kidneys, get help fast. Good luck.

The only person who can advise you properly is a doctor who will probably organise tests,. Do not delay going to the doctor.

Sounds to me like a kidney stone......you need to get a urinalysis to be sure of anything....or at home get a clear clean glass. clean yourself really well remove all blood from area, insert tampon to prevent any new blood contamination. Urinate in glass and examine contents. If there is blood you need to return to the doctor, (family doc, not gyno) and get above test done.....If no blood save for a couple of days to see if it gets cloudy, if it does you have an infection and again need to see family doc...if it remains clear then your gyno was right.......hope this helps.....
