I do not think that we `lesser beings` would get the chance to go. The `content` would be hand-picked and would consist of all the major academics in every field. Also, `the best of the best` from everything. You can bet your life, that you won`t get an invite if you are ugly or have any inherited deformities or disease or if you don`t have 20/20 vision or an A1 health certificate.

Could give you many acerbic answers like the other two, but seriously the people who would go are the "privileged" rich and influential, Politicians and corporate big wigs, forget the intelligent fit people who would be able to best represent the human race. It would be a mad scramble with all with those who funded and organised the Ark who would secure places.Human nature at it's darkest would be rampant. It's a poor testament to our psyche but true non the less........Save a place for me!!!!!!

More importantly, where would they go.

We know of no inhabitable planet. And if we found one it would be a fair bet it would already have native intelligent life. Are you suggesting we repeat the acts of genocide that were committed against native American and Australian peoples in order to steal someone else's planet? So that we can mess it up too? Isn't that just a bit evil?

The politicians would be first to have their snouts in the doorway.
Then the intellectuals.
Then the medics.

They would have to really grit their teeth to allow the odd technician in - only because they have to keep the essential systems working, electricians, plumbers, electronic techs, etc. But they would be kept out of sight on the 'lower decks' so to speak.

What would be more interesting would be who would you NOT allow on board?

Why? There's no place for us to go to survive.

Not only are we completely unaware if any other planet exists where humans could live (and probably will never know), but ultimately the cosmos is going to die. It is inevitable. I don't know why people who are supposedly "scientific" can't come to grips with this simple truth.

We are going to die, all life is going to go extinct, and there is nothing we can do about it.

since i believe that the outcome of such an adventure is highly uncertain, i would vote for this answer:

I don't know who WOULD go, but i have my personal list with people who SHOULD go for making the world a better place

If it was to save mankind....I'd go with my g/f.
If it was to rid this planet of its 'worst' elements....I'd send Minnesota man. Yes, mate, you.
