IQ's are normally distributed (bell curve) so there is no correlation with age. If you administered the test and looked at the results by age with a proper sample size you would see no significant difference in mean score or range.
This said, I don't think age has much to do with intelligence. There's something to be said for experience yes but there's a lot of older people who don't challenge themselves intellectually. Again, within any particular age you examine, you'll see a full range of IQs. However, I wouldn't trust the average 16 year old to tell me the best assisted living center for my grandparents, nor would I ask the average 60 year old about the latest youth trends. Maybe that's something you should think about when asking questions, "what kind of people would answer this?" That may be why it seems that mostly under/uneducated people are answering your questions. I really don't know what the demographics are for Yahoo! answers but I'd guess it again would be a Gaussian distribution with the average being somewhere between high school grad and bachelor's level grad.
So, to answer your question, I don't think that age needs to be conveyed in Yahoo! answers necessarily. A good answer is a good answer.
I'm 28 years old if you still want to know.

You've got a point. Yahoo could develop a system that requests and display our age and IQ. This way askers know which answers are more reliable and won't fall into any traps.
I'm 20 and I've got an Advanced Diploma of International Commerce. Last IQ test I took, I scored 119.

I am 38, I think including a persons age would be beneficial to answerers because they may be able to better undestand the meaning of the question and word their answer appropriate to the askers age. The asker may also want to know the answerers age to gauge the persons life experience on the topic or realise the person answerering is just not on the same wave length if the age difference is huge.
I dont think IQ is directly related to age but age equals life experience and therefore, knowledge about things that may be happening to the asker.

No I don't think age needs to be included. You can tell whether an answer is based on sound fact. I answer to give the correct answer and usually research the question, that is if I also want to know the answer, so I can be informative. Otherwise I don't bother.
And, no I don't care about your age. (by the way, you ask for ours, you don't give yours)
IQ. No not proportionate to age. My IQ at 17 ( 1st time I was tested) is what it is today. And no. I'm not telling my age but, I remember $.25 loaf of bread.
You did not mention gender, so I'll leave that out too.

It's funny that you should ask this. In the past week I have answered to very obviously young askers that they should wait until they're 13 to answer. In each case, each person wrote to me privately (in horribly worded English, completely misspelled) that he or she was not only a native English-speaker, but that he or she was 30 or 45 or some other adult age and that he or she was completely offended by my comment. What the heck? Why are so many people on this site so illiterate? Didn't everyone at least learn to write simple English in American schools?
I'd have to say it's a lot easier to determine a general level of intelligence than an age.
Oh, sorry...I'm 36 and have a bachelor's degree in film theory.

Yes, I agree! I'd love to know how old some of us are, and I'll bet you're right about the place being largely the domain of the under-18 set.
I answer questions just for the fun of it; the points are meaningless, anyway.
I'm 53, M.A. in Art History, IQ not nearly as prestigious as I would like to think, I'm sure. Probably around 86.
Now, it's your turn: confess your age!
