I bought a western digital 60 GB har drive installed put some stuff on it and than 2 hours later the thing just turned itself off and wont turn on again. also when i plug it into the USB drive in the back of my laptop it causes the other device back there in the other USB drive to stop working.
Someone please help me.

Something is wrong with it. Return it for replacement.

have you tried it on a different computer? If not try it on a different computer. If it does the same thing on the other computer, return the drive becuasae it definately sounds defective. You may have lost whatever data is stored on that drive.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.

Check the BIOS settings and re-configure.

it might be defective; or not compatable with your system.
