My reaction would be the same, regardless of what he says, and that would be skepticism. I have a hard time believing anything this man says or has said as his whole presidency is based on the lie that he won the first election fair and square. He was appointed, never elected and even the second election has many discrepancy in it. To answer this question which is hypothetical at best, I have to answer with a hypothetical answer. I would probably mistrust anything that he will say as his spin doctors, and people like Rush Limbaugh would try to make this apology as Bush's greatest victory.

When you are a citizen lambda you have to apologize to everybody, yourself counted. But the President is not a lambda man - he is the Ruler par excellence.
Ok, every Ruler can make errors - but he wouldn't be a real Ruler if doing all the time such things.
Learn from the history books: had the Iraqis asked pardon of the Kurds or any other minority ? No ! So don't ask for things which can't be done in reality.

Bush is so delusional that he thinks that Al Qaeda is responsible for most of the violence in Iraq. He's been asked whether he's made ANY mistake during his presidency and he's said "no". However, I think his true feelings come out in statements such as these:
"The only way we can win is to leave before the job is done." -- Greeley, Colo., Nov. 4, 2006
"You know, one of the hardest parts of my job is to connect Iraq to the war on terror." --in an interview with CBS News' Katie Couric, Sept. 6, 2006
"I was not pleased that Hamas has refused to announce its desire to destroy Israel." -- Washington, D.C., May 4, 2006
"People don't need to worry about security. This deal wouldn't go forward if we were concerned about the security for the United States of America." --on the deal to hand over U.S. port security to a company operated by the United Arab Emirates, Washington, D.C., Feb. 23, 2006
You've probably seen him slur a lot of words at certain press conferences, lean too much on the podium and walk off with an exaggerated swagger. If he drinks a little more, he may admit some fault, but he will NEVER APOLOGIZE. His grandiose sense of entitlement will not permit it.

I would welcome it,maybe naive but America is still an important ally to us and an apology goes a long way.Of course this should e followed by a US foreign policy that shows more respect for the allies and international law.
I believe everyone deserves to be forgiven when their excuses are real and sincere.

Some of you really need to read your history books. The American government has consistently made messes throughout the 20th century with it's ham fisted foreign policy.
1.Vietnam: Get tens of thousands of U.S. troops and countless Vietnamese and Cambodians killed in a war over a few paddy fields....and lose. Hit neutral Laos, which is a country smaller the Belgium with more artillery used by ALL parties during World War 2. People are still being killed by unexploded mines today.
2. Iran/Iraq: Overthrow the Shah, pay for Saddam Hussein to keep his replacement in check but give the "fanatical muslims" weapons too. Result...ten years of bloodshed.
3. Cuba: Got the CIA involved in a plot to try and kill Castro with predictably poor results. Allow Kennedy to put missiles in Turkey which kicked off the "bay of pigs" incident and almost started world war 3.
4. Latin America: Interfere with just about every government on the continent, and help install corrupt dictators (see Batista and Pinochet).
5. Afghanistan: (This is my personal favourite) President Ronald Reagan calls the TALEBAN......"a forward looking and progressive government"!!!!?????
6. Africa: Doctors recieving medical books donated by the U.S. were given surplus from large bookstores. One Kenyan doctor had the gall to complain about having hundreds of textbooks on breast augmentation but very few on tropical diseases and the treatment of HIV.
7. Africa (again): U.S. (and E.U. by the way) grain and meat subsidies are distorting the market. It is cheaper for a shop owner on Malawi to buy a chicken raised in Texas than it is to buy it from the bloke down the street.
So yes, the U.S. government has made a tit of itself in Iraq but Bush apologising would solve nothing. In fact it would completely and utterly discredit him and whoever succeeds him. Unfortunatley the U.S. and the West in genaral have to get over why the war started. Deal with the situation in hand, people are dying NOW stop worrying about those who are already dead when you have the chance to stop even more slaughter. Apologies mean nothing in politics, deeds matter. We have to sort it out now and stop pussy footing around the problems we have and not the issues from two years ago.

Knowing Bush, I would not believe a word of it, and would busy myself finding out what he was really up to behind that false front. He has no apology for his behavior, for he thinks world domination and plunder are admirable pursuits in life. That is part of the Skull & Bones credo.

idiotic question...
mistakes are made by everyone
the invasion of Iraq removed a murderous tyrant and provided the population a chance to use their talent and resources to create a nation that would prosper and nurture its population.
in any plan, the situation changes daily and unforeseen events and problems occur..
foreign insurgents streamed into Iraq simply to cause division and distress among the population..A destabilized Iraq would be easy to absorb
WHAT IS REALLY TROUBLING is that too many like YOU cant focus on anything except your festering hatred for BUSH
GET OVER IT Bush was elected...the terrorists existed long before he got in office..fanatics are irrational and appeasement or "talks" will not alter their desire to kill

It would just be a small blurb in the news, it is not something new or shocking. The ones he owes apologies to are the parents wives/husbands and kids of the dead soldiers....no one else.
