depends where you are from and what skills you have on offer. If you have a degree and a few years experience you can apply for skilled migration visa and then apply for citizenship after 3 years. Australia is in the process of changing it to a minimum 4 years before you can apply for citizenship and people must sit an english lanuguage and culture test.
