If this "friend" is another Woman, DON'T - Go alone. The repercussions will reverberate forever! You will be looked upon as a "cad", unfaithful, and no one will believe that this is a "friend". What are you thinking? Be a decent Husband, and set the standards, for which all Faithful,Honest and Loyal Husbands do. If your marriage is on the Rocks! - as long as you and your wife are still living together, GO ALONE, OR DON'T GO! Take my advice, I know the ACTION will have a disastrous REACTION. Your employer and employees will think very little of you after this party if you don't listen to me, and follow my advice.

You don't owe anyone an explanation, but it'll be pretty obvious what's going on. And it's offensive to act as if your coworkers are stupid.
I think you'll be making a big mistake by taking her in the first place. If you're going to go to the party, and not take your wife, go alone. You can meet your lover later. The work place is the wrong place to introduce a lover to. That's begging for trouble.

You owe a lot more than explnation my friend. Look for a Attorney who can bail you out when the time comes in. The judge will be all over you. Why can't you take your wife. Are you cheationg on her, she is ugly or are you gutless to take her with you. In any case your freinds in the office will have LESS AND LESS of respect for you each day. Don't forget this you asked for it. God Help You.

I don't know if you "owe" anyone an explanation but you're going to have to give one eventually to someone, wheather it be your wife or a co-worker. If you're prepared to be the source of hot office gossip then more power to you because that is what is going to happen if you show up with someone other than your wife.
