I'm an artistic person, but I don't talk much, so I'll try.
To me, art doesn't really have to be all beautiful, and all art does not necessarily be beautiful. It's a natural law. Some know how to draw, some suck. And even some arts are said to be not beautiful, I think it's a good thing. If some are not beautiful, then we'll recognize, know and appreciate the beautiful ones more. Isn't it? ^^
Then I think, because art is well, just art! It takes all kinds to make a world, doesn't it? So it take BOTH beautiful and not beautiful art to have an interesting world.
Then my favourite phrase, art is what comes within your heart and soul. No one can copy it. So it come geniunely, pure from our hearts, so basically, I just think all art is beautiful.
My mom's calling me! I have to go now! But if I think of more, I'll come back later!!! See you later!!! Hope this helps, for now!! Ciao!
Ah!!! I'm back! And i thought of something! Yay!
Remember, it comes deeep inside of an artist. And I personally think all art is beautiful, because of this reason. As I said, no one can truely copy your heart and your art, all art is made by many very different individuals. Art appeals different to everybody, just like music. Some thinks it's nice, some thinks it's a mess. Art is a vessel to connect many people of different cultures and countries, so many many things are different, and more different views are being put into sooo many different kinds of arts. So should you judge it? Are you supposed to?
Ah, art is life. Trees, they are art. Houses, masterpieces like Statue of liberty, they are art, a photo of a glass crashing on the floor, that is also art. So should you not agree that art is definately beautiful? Should you ask anymore that art is beautiful or not? (I mean like, if you think art is not beautiful, then it means directly you are living a life full of er.. *censored* Hee!^^)
And the last thing, is that the absolute, MOST unarguable(I think I spelled it wrong) the most beautiful art is God. Don't you agree? Good luck on your essay! Tell me the outcome if you are willing!

Art is life. Is life beautiful? Theirs so many things in life, emotions running wild. What is life to you? Like a painting , people devote their heart, soul, and all their emotion into a piece to make it what it is. When someone goes to look at that painting, it doesnt mean that that person is going to feel the same way the painter did as they put the work into it. They might feel something different when they look into the painting. Its deep, but you dont have to be deep to see the emotions about it. Just keep your mind open and let all the possibilites and feelings pour out. Its what you feel. & A photo, shows life in a view that you cant really always see with the naked eye. It holds life in a still to show you the beauty that it holds. That is art. Art to me is beautiful. But what comes with beauty can be pain, love, hard work, intelligence, wealth, unwealthy, small, big, cold, warm, the human body, an aminal, the universe, living and dead. Anything can be beautiful. Like the saying "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." Their are numerous ways someone can take that sentance and make it mean many different things.
&& i hope you do well on your paper,.. truthfully i would love to see what you write in the end. :) Good Luck!

Art is an expression of something both the artist/artiste and the target (intended if any audience) have a deep urge or when paid so for the work committed to bring forth on a medium physically in the form of voice, drawing, writing,or anything communicated to the external world to identify as something that lets out their creative resources in the way either or both of the above find unique , entertaining that needs to be so expressed and draws applause or critique as worthy. If the above is done just like we talk in normal conversation or style it is not art. If it is done with flourish and newness or near or exact imitation of earlier impression it is acknowledged. You can break this into simple sentence and draw out an essay on the lines adding anything that appeals to your creative(artistic)mind. All the best.

As an absolute rule? No. Absolutely not!
Consider:
Picasso's Guernica,
Goya's "Shootings 3 May 1808"
Turner's "Slave ship..."
(just first thoughts... there are probably many better examples)
Art may be beautiful, but sometimes its priority is to make an impact. And beauty, in the sense related to harmony, may have to go overboard.
The beauty that remains is the one of function. A piece of work which does exactly what the artist intended it to do.

First of all, 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder' (or so they say) so what seems beautiful to one person may seem dull, insulting, or even ugly to someone else.
Secondly, art is created by the artist as an expression of the world around them and their perceptions of it. As such, art shouldn't be bound by the need to be 'beautiful' or even try to be, unless that is the message and the intent the artist wants to convey.
Just as there are joyful stories, painful stories and sad, tragic stories, there is just as much validity in art that is disturbing or distasteful as in the general appeal of the beautiful, graceful and attractive.

Well being that beauty is in the eye of the beholder that is hard to say. What art should do is make you wonder, ponder appreciate, question what the artist was trying to say. Art should spark the subtle parts in the back of your head.

Art doesn't have to be beautiful. Artist create to express how they view the world. Sometimes the world is not a beautiful place.

It is very beautiful. The color looks good on your skin tone, the length is perfect for the size of your finger, the soft color is not too loud but creates a nice accent and it also has some "bling" so it is a good modern look. It does look beautiful, yes.
